The hiring official called today. I am stymied because they did a reference check and I know my references are solid. I think I was plan b. But I am heartbroken that I didn't get the job. It was so close to home, right across from the daycare. Working at that library branch was my dream from the time I started library school.
I am so down right now.

Sorry this one didn't come through. The fact that they called the references tells you that you qualified. There will be others, and your qualifications will only be better after graduation.
